Having cast my line in waters spanning from Mexico to Alaska, my return to Oregon always ignites a profound appreciation for the natural splendor that surrounds us. From the breathtaking McKenzie River, renowned for its pristine trout habitat, to the dynamic coastal streams like the Siletz and Umpqua systems, Oregon boasts a wealth of river treasures. Drifting along in pursuit of trout and steelhead has been a lifelong passion, beginning with navigating the Alsea River in a 1972 Keith Steel wood boat, tethered from the Fall Creek bridge on chilly December mornings, to our current vessel, the 17×54 RiverWolf, exploring the Grand Ronde in Northeast Oregon for prized trout and steelhead.
With three decades of service as a Fire Captain and Paramedic with the Springfield Fire Department, I’ve honed invaluable skills in customer care under challenging circumstances. Our duty was to serve the public during their most critical moments, fostering resilience and adaptability. Out of this commitment to service and my role as a grandfather, LFA – Leldon’s Fishing Adventures was born.
